In celebration of it's sixth year, The Clothing Exchange is inviting you to bring along a friend to it's birthday swap for free! For the past six years, The Clothing Exchange has been enabling Australian women to update their wardrobes with gorgeous clothing from other women's closets.
The basic idea is that many women have garments in their wardrobes which they love but no longer wear, and they'd be happy to swap it for something that they would wear, given the chance. The Clothing Exchange offers this opportunity and allows 'swappers' to see, touch and try on the garments (unlike selling or swapping them online). The event makes for a fun night out with other eco-conscious fashionistas. Because this event is a birthday celebration, you will be welcomed with a delicious cupcake on arrival and drinks are available at bar prices.
When: 6.30pm, Wednesday June 1st
Where: 23 Meyers Place @ the Loop Bar in Melbourne, Australia
Cost: Tickets are $25
Tickets will be available at the door, but it may be best to purchase them online.
If you would like to bring a friend along for free, once you have bought your ticket, email Linda at melbourne@clothingexchange.com.au and let her know your friend’s name which will then be added to the V.I.P. list.
A few tips for newbies:
• Get there early and stand to one side so that you can check out what's coming through the door and be ready to make your selection when the time comes.
• The change room space is communal so layer up or leave your modesty at the door.
• If you spot something really delightful, chances are 5-10 other participants have spotted it too and you have to be super-quick to get to if first.
• Bring along up to six items to exchange.
• The Clothing Exchange is now selling gift vouchers which is a great way to introduce friends to the concept.
• If you don't live in Melbourne check out the events page to see if The Clothing Exchange is holding an event near you!
As the temperatures cool in Melbourne, The Clothing Exchange team is gearing up for their birthday celebration. So if you want to freshen up your wardrobe for winter, head down to the Loop Bar in Melbourne this Wednesday to get your hands on some new-to-you treasures.
