Cyber Bullying-step it before it steps on your child!

For those of you not familiar with the menace of cyber bullying, its equivalent to having your kid being bullied in school, but with the difference being that in cyber bullying, technology is basically the medium through which teens are bullied. Cybercrime is an offense which is on the rise in Pakistan with a proper cybercrime law and act in the function now. Cyber bullying is the equivalent of school bullying for kids and teens. It is a growing problem which most parents are unaware of.
The parents of teens who use technology such as mobiles, internet or wireless are mostly unaware of the threats posed by this technology, resulting in cyber crimes. Harassment via blogs, text messages, e-mails, instant messaging; are all forms of cyber bullying. The retribution that most teens have towards cyber bullying is that they start indulging in this crime too, hence not putting a stop to it.
In Pakistan, there is no such concept of cyber care. Teens and kids are mostly led astray by the bling of the cyber world that completely allures them and manages to lure the impressionable minds into its charm. Parents need to ascertain cyber care in Pakistan to ensure a safe and user friendly utilization of the technology to their teens. Cyber care for kids can only be determined if the parents try being an active part of their teen’s life and keeping a tab on their kid’s cyber activities; not intruding upon their privacy but keeping a slight check.
Cyber crime includes all kinds of unlawful activities such as forgery, plagiarism, email spoofing, online gambling, cyber stalking, cyber defamation, web jacking etc. In Pakistan, cyber crimes such as pornography, virus attacks, online gambling, sales of illegal articles etc are often reported and are continuously on the rise. In Pakistan, cyber care needs to be implemented, none other by parents of the teens themselves, in order to give a more secure and protected environment to their kids.
Cyber bullying can lead to some emotional scars running very deep in your kid. You might want to step up and take action now…before your teen is subjected to any maltreatment and bullying.
